Consignment Sales Service

The Teddy Baron offers bear artists and private collectors alike the opportunity to sell their bears via our Consignment Sales Service. This allows you to display your bears to a worldwide audience and often yields the greatest return – without burdening you with the process of directly selling the bears yourself.

While we welcome a variety of consignments, we do require that all of the bear's vital information be submitted for consideration and approval prior to his arrival at our store. We also require that all consignment items remain in our possession for the duration of the agreement so we may verify description points, take photographs, answer questions, and have the bear available for immediate shipment.

If we can be of service to you, please send us the details of each bear you want to offer. Your description should include:

  • The bear's name
  • The artist or manufacturer
  • Size (measured from the bottom of the back paws to the top of the head)
  • Material
  • Age, if known
  • Condition (mint condition is expected unless the bear is particularly rare)
  • Additional characteristics (factory errors, artist's signature, and so on)
  • Your desired asking price and your minimum sale price
  • Well-lit photographs of the bear's full length and a close-up of the bear's face
(The Teddy Baron may decline artist bears for which no photographs have been provided.)

Before placing a consignment, you and The Teddy Baron will need to agree on an original asking price and a minimum sale price for each bear. Our prices vary according to our current inventory, specific needs, and projected salability of any given bear, so we reserve the right to decline listing your bear if we are too far apart on price. Please note that value is deducted for bears lacking their original boxes, packaging, or tags; bears missing accessories; and bears otherwise not in mint condition.

If one or more of your bears is selected for consignment, The Teddy Baron will send you an agreement form via e-mail. Please print and review the document; if you agree to the consignment terms, sign the agreement and include it with your bear consignment.
