Because many of our bears are rare and hard-to-find, however, we often have only one of each particular bear available. If you see someone for whom you've been searching – or experience that bolt of love at first sight – please don't hesitate! Someone else may be feeling the same excitement and buy your bear while you deliberate.

But we at the Teddy Baron understand that sometimes you need to think about a purchase for a few hours... maybe even sleep on it. That's why we offer a 24-hour hold on any of our bears, figurines, and accessories. Simply send us a message and tell us in which bears you're interested. Based on the time and date of your message,^* you will have the first option to buy that item for the next 24 hours – meaning if someone else wants to purchase it, we will attempt to contact you before selling it.


So where do we find these rare and wonderful bears? Well,.... We actually have several sources, including:

Individual Artists

We frequently work directly with the bear artists themselves. For instance, The Teddy Baron is the only retail outlet in the United States offering Tanya and Roger Hall's distinctive Avalon Bears. Tanya is an amazing person, both for her Teddy bear talent and her warm spirit, and we feel honored to represent Avalon Bears.

The Teddy Baron strives to promote the work of Teddy bear artists from around the world and is always interested in meeting new talent. If you are a Teddy bear artist, please tell us about yourself, your work, and your reason for creating Teddy bears. If possible, please also send a few photographs of your completed bears for consideration. (If you are not yet ready or willing to offer your bears wholesale, please consider our Consignment Sales Service.)

Respected Manufacturers

The Teddy Baron also has established relationships with respected manufacturers to offer artist-quality bears at more affordable prices. Although these bears are produced in larger quantities than the artist-sewn bears, most (if not all) are still hand-pieced and -embellished, and use only top-quality materials.

Private Collections

From time to time, the opportunity to purchase private collections arises. Rest assured that only mint-condition bears are selected and offered by The Teddy Baron. These individual sources periodically yield high-end bears we may offer at an even greater discount than our minimum 10 percent savings, but it is also from these sources we occasionally find ourselves caring for stray bears – cubs of no known lineage who are nonetheless loveable and in need of good homes. Whenever these bears are available, we will list them at bargain prices in a special "Orphans" section.

Last but not least, The Teddy Baron offers bear artists and private collectors alike the opportunity to sell their bears via our Consignment Sales Service. This allows you to display your bears to a worldwide audience and often yields the greatest return – without burdening you with the process of selling the bears yourself.
